Red Rocks Report, A Cake Mug, and a Naughty Princess!

Math:

I (Kaylee) finished my assessments and next week I will be able to start on my new lessons! I (Landen) continued Imagine Math Facts, Multiplication. I (Emberly) started doing addition with Imagine Math Facts. I also started my Princess Addition workbook.

Language Arts:

I (Kaylee) did my last copywork and started my Secrets of Storytelling creative writing workbook. I (Landen) read a book to Owen. I (Emberly) read The Perfect Dress, a princess book, to Kaylee.

Science:

Spa Chemistry (Kaylee):

I finished a tiny tube of chapstick I got from the dentist and then made some awesome new orange and peppermint lip balm!

I used this website and scented it with sweet orange and peppermint essential oils. I also started my End Of Year Chemistry Essay.

Elementary Science (Landen):

I started a report on the Saint George Red Rocks. I researched "Why Are The Red Rocks In Saint George Red?" Then I made a report project on Scratch. I will continue my report next week, but you can look at it now. I learned that Iron makes the rocks red and Iron is also why our blood is red.

Technology:

Digital Photography (Kaylee):

I finished my Prop Styling video on CreativeLive. He taught tips on using hands as props, such as holding a bowl, and using condensation and steam as props as well. He taught about using a fork to make cool swirls with the steam and taking a picture of it. I hope I can do that sometime!

Digital Art (Landen):

I started my report project on Scratch for Science and Digital Art. I will work on it more next week.

Elective:

Culinary Arts (Kaylee):

I made a delicious cake mug for Culinary Arts!

I used this recipe. It's a strawberry shortcake mug. I put strawberry pie filling in the batter and on top of it. I ate it and it was D E L I C I O U S!!!

P.E. (Landen):

Kaylee researched some cool trampoline games and then we all went outside and played on our trampoline!!! We played Trampoline Whispers, which is like the game Telephone but on a tramp. First, Owen did a trick- a somersault. Then, Emberly did Owen's trick plus her own trick, a cute twirl. Next, I did Owen's trick, Emberly's trick, and my own trick, falling and squiggling like a worm. Finally, Kaylee did- can you guess?- all of their tricks and her own trick- a front flip. It was soo much fun!!!

Arts and Crafts (Emberly):

I drew a pretty princess and then drew her room, too, on a notebook. She is a naughty princess! She got into chocolate without asking the King and Queen first and smeared it all over her face.

Kaylee helped me with the desk/vanity table and the fireplace shaped like a crown. Dad drew the fire in the fireplace and I drew the rest, including the messy princess. It was very fun and took quite a while!!!
