This week, I (Kaylee) started my lessons. I did CTC lessons about Square Roots (which I knew), Cube Roots (which I didn't know), absolute value, and division of integers. I (Landen) practiced multiplication and did some more CTC lessons about division. I (Emberly) did a Discovery Can with dad. I learned addition and subtraction up to 20.
Language Arts:
I (Kaylee) did my copywork for our new book, Show Me A Sign. It is the book that we've been looking forward to all school year long, as it is about Sign Language (which has always fascinated us). I (Landen) took turns with Emberly, reading books to Owen. That way, we were both reading and doing school, while Owen had nice bedtime stories!
Science:
Spa Chemistry (Kaylee):
This week I didn't actually make anything, but I finished my first draft on my End Of Year Chemistry Essay. Next week, I will edit it and post it on Scratch so that you can see it! (However, it might take more than one week, so I can't make any promises 😉)
Elementary Science (Landen):
This week I took my knowledge of the Red Rocks in Saint George and typed up a report on Word. I'll work on it again next week, revising, adding things, and cutting out some other things.
Technology:
Digital Photography (Kaylee):
This week I watched a Creative Live video. The teacher explained about some cool gadgets that you can use, some that are more gadget-y, like a peeler (to make fancy curliques of lemon, lime, or orange peels), and some that are more regular stuff, like tweezers and scissors.
Digital Art (Landen):
I am working on an interactive background project on Scratch. An interactive background is where you click on different objects in the background, and they make noise and/or have a funny little animation. This week I drew the background, next week I will add some objects and code their animations.
Elective:
Culinary Arts (Kaylee):
This week I made a flourless chocolate cake with a yummy ganache and raspberries for Easter!
This cake was D E L I C I O U S!! The ganache is really good, the raspberries are sweet and yummy, and the powdered sugar (not mold, I assure you, in case it looks like it), is sooooo amazing!!
It was delicious and I ate it in 3 seconds (NOT literally ;)).
P.E. (Landen):
This week I played outside on the trampoline. We played Poison Ball, a fun game from this website.
Arts and Crafts (Emberly):
This week I made some adorable heart-shaped earrings!
When I traced and colored a little pony picture, and we made it in my Craft EZ Oven, it did not work out well. So this time, we cooked it in our kitchen oven, and it turned out almost perfect. Yay!!
