Tree, Soap, and A New Addition to A Project!

Math:

This week we did more CTC. I (Landen) am learning "axis of symmetry" and measuring angles. I (Kaylee) am learning about rotational symmetry and measuring angles and then adding them up to form a 180 degree line. I (Emberly) practiced adding and subtracting with Kaylee.

Language Arts:

This week we read more of "Front desk." We listened to it in the van when we did errands. We also listened to it while we were coloring. I (Kaylee) was inspired by Mia's best friend, Lupe, who likes drawing trees, and drew my own tree. I colored the sky four different shades of blue and the grass three different shades of green. Like Lupe said, "It's all in the detail, so don't rush." I didn't rush.

Bathbombs, Scratch, and Pie!

Math:

We did more lessons on CTC. I (Landen) am learning about telling time on a clock and measuring degrees in Celsius and Fahrenheit. I (Kaylee) am learning about measuring angles. I (Emberly) learned about stages of Time. I did puzzles on Mathseeds where I put pictures in order- a seed, a sprout, a flower, an apple, or an egg, a baby dinosaur, a teenage dinosaur, and an adult dinosaur.

Language Arts:

We continued reading our book, Front Desk, and did our copywork. This week's copywork was a letter from Mia (the main character) to a character named Lupe.

Science:

Spa Chemistry (Kaylee):

Landen and Owen have been asking for some blue bath bombs for their baths, so this week I finally made them some! I colored some of the mixture blue and put lemon essential oil in it. I colored the rest of the mixture red and put red cherry essential oil in it. They smelled so good!

Abacus, Volcano, and New Headbands!

Math:

I (Emberly) did Mathseeds. I like the part where there were songs. I (Landen) learned to measure with gallons, pints, and cups. I (Kaylee) learned Time Differences and made an abacus out of one of my Radish boxes, yarn, and letter O stickers. Then I researched how to do math problems on it. I can do addition and subtraction really well and am learning how to do multiplication and division on my abacus.

The abacus is set at 0.

It's Good to be Back

This week we did more CTC. We also have some more assessments coming up. When we do them, they will test us to see how much we have learned and what else we need to learn.

December Book Club Party- The Lion of Mars

This month we had another book club party! We read and finished The Lion of Mars. It was a really good book!
