Making Journals and a Wooden Crane

Science:
We colored more digestive system organs this week. There are a lot!

Here are some of my organs:

Here are a few of Landen's paper organs:

Landen's pancreas, spleen, and gall bladder.

Landen's stomach.

Tech:
Doodle Crate (Kaylee):
I made another piece of paper and then continued onto the next step of making them into journals!

My papers!

They weren't flat enough yet so I stuck them under a heavy stack of books for a few hours.

I trimmed my handmade paper to the journal size and I bound it into a book!

Tinker Crate (Landen):
I finished building my crane! It is so much fun to work with.

Elective:
Arts and Crafts (Kaylee):

I latch-hooked more of my slippers. This is a few more rows than last week.

Building Machines (Landen):
I built this fighter plane, it can hold three people! It also has lasers.

Pew! Pew!

March Crates and the Digestive System

Science:
This week we colored our digestive system organs! We learned that the small intestine is way, way longer than the large intestine. We also learned about the appendix and that it can get inflamed and cause harm to the body. We thought that it had no purpose, but we learned that it may help by storing friendly gut bacteria. We had no idea!

Tech:
Doodle Crate (Kaylee): This week I started my March crate.... making paper! I put white paper strips into my jar as well as colored tissue paper. I also put flecks of "confetti paper" in it. When the paper dries, the flecks will show up like confetti. The flecks don't dissolve because they are much thicker than the tissue paper.

I spread the pulp over my tray and squeezed out all the water. Next, I left it out to dry into colored paper.

Tinker Crate (Landen): This week I built the body to my wooden crane!

It is so cool! I can't wait to be able to use it!

Elective:
Arts and Crafts (Kaylee): This week I worked on my other sole.

It is getting so pretty! I love them!

Building Machines (Landen): This week I built an off road vehicle and it is so fast!!

Wrapping up February Crates and the Digestive System

Science:
This week we began the digestive system! We played a trivia game and learned a lot of fun facts about the human body!

We learned that the digestive system starts in your mouth because saliva begins breaking down food. We also learned when you blush, your stomach blushes too because blood flows to your face and stomach.

My favorite fact I learned is that sneezing can send particles flying out of your nose at yp to 100 miles per hour!

Tech:
Doodle Crate (Kaylee): I finished my last basket which wraps up my February Crate. Our March crates arrived and I am so excited to show you what I will be doing next week!

It's The End... It's Over. 2022-2023 Goodbye!

Pre-Algebra: This week I completed my Final Mr. D. Math lesson and my Semester II test!! I completed a survey and gave them some feedback. I...
