And now the time has come to gather 'round;
Bedecked, bemasked, bemused, and now be friends.
We'll feast, we'll fight, we'll stomp upon the ground.
We'll craft and gab and celebrate the end.
When Cupid lays a trap do not be caught;
Take up your quill and wield it like a sword.
If losing be your destiny, fear not;
The stakes are low so be there no discord.
Among our friends we'll find a mystery laid
To bend our minds and challenge us to think.
To duel is not your taste, you maybe said?
Oh well, instead, taste of the food and drink.
The host invites you, "Come, and enter in."
The book clubbers arrived, we can begin!

The Masks
In Shakespeare's plays, oftentimes hidden identity is a crucial plot element. Therefore, we had a masquerade party. We decorated masks beforehand and wore them to the party. Unfortunately, my baby brother Shiloh got scared of us. He was especially terrified of me with my cat mask.
We had pretzel sticks for Tybalt's rapiers.
The Treats
The Activities (not pictured)
I gave pencils and paper to the guests and we wrote our wills, like Caesar's will. Then we read them aloud.

We dueled, like Romeo and Tybalt did. We did thumb wars, did a dizzy race, picked up marbles with our toes, etc.
Finally, we played my Who am I? game. Mom guessed the most of her cards and won! I came in third place.

Oh my...how fun!!! The party looked like it was so awesome! I love themed parties. The names of the food items to go along with the Shakesoeare works are very clever! I especially like much ado about bread knothings! So so fun!

Luckily we don't have to come up with all the cool names! Our Monthly curriculum does that for us! Mom is excited for this Month's Party because get to wear pajamas, eat grilled cheese and work on a jigsaw puzzle. She said you like to do those too!
