Names of the Bones and a NEW machine!

Science: Names of the Bones week #1
This week we began learning the names of the bones in our bodies. We filled out worksheets and we played with our iposter.

Tech: We built a telephone this week and we had fun playing with it!

We learned that sound waves can travel even better through a solid, like the yarn in our telephone, than they do in the air. That is how we can hear someone talking through the telephone.

We can actually hear the person on the other end of the line!

Elective:
Arts and Crafts (Kaylee): We bought the coolest, most amazing and BEAUTIFUL machine! I wish I could make a project everyday!

This week I made an Etc. bag! The pattern and instructions came in my Sewing School 2 book! It turns out there is a secret pocket in the back of the book with a bunch of patterns!

It fits me perfectly!

I learned how to iron, make a casing, and thread a ribbon through it.

Building Machines (Landen): This week I started the next unit of my Lego Education set. I am learning about Wheels and Axels. I learned about friction and built models that went down a ramp.

As you can see.. it doesn't move.

In this picture, I used a glossy paper that came with my Lego Education set and the model was able to slide down the "ramp."

Bonus Highlight (Kaylee): I noticed that a box of pop tarts we had mentioned a free book. I asked my mom about it and she said we could give it a try. She bought a couple more boxes at the store and uploaded the receipts. We were then able to pick a book and they sent them too us. Landen and I chose the first and second books of "The Last Kids on Earth" Series. We love watching the Netflix show! Emberly chose "The Very Hungry Caterpillar."

Thank you Kellogg's!

Mom was surprised that they were hardbound books and said that these are way better than any cereal box toy they used to get!

I really like hearing you enjoy sewing. That's one of my favorite hobbies. Landen, the Lego models you've been making look like you're learning how machines work...awesomeness! The book Emberly picked is a fun one. I'm glad you all received books. I love reading! I'm excited to read about your weekly school activities! I love all y'all! 💜 Grandma Susan

  2. Thanks! I have already read both of the Last Kids On Earth books and I so very much want book 3 and 4 and 5 and 6 and 7 and the Last Kids On Earth Survival Guide! But mom says on Amazon they are so expensive! :(
Landen has read book 1 and book 2 as well. They are basically comics and have lots of pictures, perfect for him! We are anxious to read the rest of the series and watch all the episodes on TV!
