1st Tinker Crate and Nervous System Week #1

1st Tinker Crate: Build a Spinning Art Machine

This week we got a spin art machine. We prepped the box with our mom and built the motor with our dad. We learned about the resistors on the breadboard above and that the more resistors in front of the bottom black wire, the slower the speed.

It is really messy on the inside of the box. You can see the paper outline on the tan spinny thingy! And on the inside, there is a straight line of splatters from all the colors of the paint-orange, green, yellow and blue.

This is the spin art we made. When we were cleaning up, my little sister's first paper dropped on the floor. It was pretty messy, and it splattered! She created 2, Landen created 3, and I made 2.

Nervous System Week #1 Brain, Spinal Cord and Reflexes

Mom traced us onto paper. This will be a year long project. As we learn about the different parts of the body, we will be coloring, cutting and gluing them onto our body outlines.

We learned about the nervous system and colored our brain. The cerebrum is grey and the brain stem is gold.

Bonus Highlight: Scrapbooking

This week I did the zoo page. For my first birthday we went to the zoo. My mom and I found the tickets in a keepsake bin and glued them on. I also put on cute baby zoo animal stickers.
