This week we went to the Clark Planetarium!! We went with our grandma and had so much fun!!!!! We looked at most of the things there and then watched a 3D movie. There was a mix up with wristbands and it was a little complicated to get into the movie, but it worked out and we all had a great time.
We danced around inside a tornado. Did you expect to hear that?
Shiloh loved it. Later on, there was a giant bowl of practically the same stuff (I'm assuming, I don't know what it's made of) and it was overflowing. It looked so cool.
There was this awesome game where you move your arm to aim, and press the buttons on the stand to fire. You must protect planet Earth with your laser beams? Space missles? Whatever they are, it was cool. This was one of my favorites.
Landen and I made a great team. The bar at the top of the screen shows how many million people are alive on Earth, and we only lost about a million people per 3 seconds. I mean, not bad... right? :)
They projected this image onto the screen, and wherever you stepped, the floor bent like a trampoline. Not literally the floor, but it was fantastic. Another of my favorites, for sure!
The sign says it all. Watch water freeze. You could literally see the ice crystals forming. If only I had a phone, I would've snapped a photo through the magnifying glass, where you could (hopefully) see it for yourself.
This was Shiloh's favorite part. He loves marble runs!! This one was gigantic and awesome. I still haven't seen one ball travel from the top to the bottom... it was too crazy. There was this spot that Landen pointed out to me where a ball falls, bangs off a metal bar thing, and lands in a basket, where it continues to roll down the track. The metal bar had a dent in it from the balls always landing in the same place. That's an accomplishment.
There was also this marble track on the ceiling, to the left of the other marble run. This one had bigger marbles, and 3 or so of the rings glowed when a marble was near or on them. It was actually pretty cool, and now I'm regretting not paying that much attention to it.

This was a game Landen had a great time playing. According to him, the switch moves a spaceship around. The spaceship flew across the ceiling, (it wasn't flying around and knocking people on the head, of course) and was one of his favorite parts.
My favorite parts, as mentioned before, were the "net" projector and the meteor game. I also liked the 3D movie, it looked more 3D than the movie I saw last time I was here, but it was also kinda gross, watching monkeys drink from bottles and spill onto their fur. Also, one of them was eating the soap he was washing up with. It was really nice, though, seeing how kind the people were to the animals. One man put a blanket over an elephant as he was sleeping. These animals were all orphaned from poachers and other things, and some were traumatized. Kindness heals the soul.
Landen's favorite part was the 3D movie, and Emberly's was... also the movie. When I prompted them further, Landen said he loved the meteor game and Emberly said she loved a kiddie place that had a slide, climbing area, and rocket ship.
It was awesome. We love Davinci field trips.

Field trips are usually fun! I'm glad you and your siblings were able to visit the planetarium. It looks like you had a great learning time.
ReplyDeleteI'm having a terrible time with my commenting jumping all over the place. I'll try again later.
I'm not very good at leaving a comment! 😬 I really like this field trip! It looks really exciting to me! Sounds like you had a lot of fun! Thanks for sharing!!❤️
