Snowmen, cake, and crystals!

Language Arts
This week we read more of our book, the Lion of Mars. We did our copy work and learned about writing letters (as the commander, Sai, was writing letters to the US Terrestrial Command).
Science
Spa Chemistry (Kaylee):
This week I made some candles. I used candle dye this time, not soap dye, as last time the soap dye didn't mix with the candle wax.

Elementary Science (Landen):
It has now been a full week since I started growing my crystal, so I rinsed it off and dried it.

It really glows in the dark!

Tech
Digital Photography (Kaylee):
This week I learned about focusing points, which are certain points in the camera's pixels that are auto focus-ers. If you don't have any people or objects in your focus points, the camera won't let you take a picture.

Digital Art (Landen):
This week I made a checkerboard and drew the pieces.

Elective
Culinary Arts (Kaylee):
This week I made some yummy, cranberry breakfast cake!

We usually only have it for Thanksgiving breakfast, but only two weeks later, I wanted it again. It's just so good!

P.E. (Landen):
I picked up the ball that had been stolen from the other team and passed it to another player. It has been hard to practice with the snow. We tied at 22 to 22. We have one more game next week!

Arts and Crafts (Emberly):
This week I painted a snowman on an empty toilet paper roll and left it to dry before I painted the face. My brother, Owen, painted over it and so I had do something else. I printed off a picture of a snowman and colored it! Yay snowmen!!!

  1. It's almost Christmas day!! I'm so grateful for a Savior. He gave us the gospel that teaches us how to live. I know I fall short but I try to be a good example.
How did your candles turn out? The breakfast cake looks yummy. If you made it 2 weeks from when you last had it, it must be delish!!!!
Landen, that crystal grew a lot and is a beautiful blue color...it's COOL!!!! Also, good job getting the ball during your basketball game. How did today's game go? I bet you had lots of fun playing ball this season!!
Emberly, too bad about your first snowman. You sure did a great job in coloring your snowman. I like the scarf's alternating colored stripes!!!
We hope to see you guys soon!
