We continued our math lessons. I (Kaylee) am learning about estimating the answer of multiplication and division problems by rounding off. I (Landen) am learning about pyramid nets and graphs.
Technology:
Language Arts:
We read more of our book, Ancestor Approved, and did our copywork. Emberly did copywork with us!
Science:
Spa Chemistry (Kaylee):
This week I made some peppermint-scented pink and white bath bombs.
I accidently put too much water in it and it started dissolving. So I mixed it with Epsom salt and put it in a jar.
I'll put it in my bath sometime.
Elementary Science (Landen):
This week I opened up another science kit and did a couple of experiments.
Then I mixed some of it together with a pipette!
It made a foamy, colorful fountain!
It exploded and mixed together! It was very messy but fun!
After that, I put some fluid in a test tube and put a balloon over it.
When I lifted the balloon up it expanded and filled up!
When I took it off I blew it around as it released the mixture inside of it!
Technology:
Digital Photography (Kaylee):
This week I watched some videos on Creative Live and learned about the basics of focusing the camera. I'll be able to take some photos next week and practice focusing the camera!
Digital Art (Landen):
This week I made a tutorial in Scratch. I drew an eye on Scratch and then made a project telling people how I did it! You can find it here.
Elective:
Culinary Arts (Kaylee):
This week I made some green bean fries!
I dipped the green beans in eggs and then coated them in a bread crumb and parmesan cheese mixture.
Then I made a sauce to dip them in!
They were really good!
P.E. (Landen):
This week I practiced passing and catching the ball with my coach. He said I am really improving each week.
I caught a rebound! We ended up winning 28 to 26!
Arts and Crafts (Emberly):
This week I got out my perler beads and made a turkey!
We saw you guys after this blog post. It was so much fun celebrating Thanksgiving with you! The food was tasty, the games were fun, and good conversation. Grandpa and I loved being there!
ReplyDeleteI sure want to see your photographs you'll be taking. I think you like learning how to take pictures, etc. Do you?
I'm glad to hear you won your game, Landen. Good job!
Fried green beans! They sound good. I love using parmesan cheese in coating chicken. I'll have to try some great beans that way!
Those perler bead turkeys were awesome. I need to get ours.
Christmas is almost here. We have our tree up and my precious nativity is on our TV stand. My mom made it for me 42 years ago. I sure love it and it helps me remember that Jesus is what Christmas is all about.
I love all y'all!
