October Book Club Party- Before the Ever After

Another book club party has arrived! We finished our book, Before The Ever After, and now it's time for some more fun and partying!

The Dress Code:

In the book, ZJ stayed in his PJ's a lot. So we each wore a pair of comfortable pajamas as we partied!

The Food:

In the book ZJ's friend Ollie makes him and his boys grilled cheese sandwiches. We had carrot sticks on the side.

For dessert we had cookies and milk, like ZJ had in his lunch.

The Activities:

ZJ always has a jigsaw puzzle in progress in his house. We worked on jigsaw puzzles this month. We finished this candy one earlier this month and started another one with pumpkins for the party.

It was so fun! With our large family, we got it done before the party even started!

We watched a football movie called "Greater." It was really cool! It was also nice to curl up on the couch as a family and learn a little bit more about football.

After the movie, we practiced with some Stroop Test cards I (Kaylee) made.

I (Kaylee) got some index cards. In green marker, I wrote the word "green" on a card. Also, in red marker, I wrote the word "green" on another card. We practiced reading the word on the congruent (the green color and "green" word) card and the incongruent (the red color and the "green" word) card. It took a little bit of thinking to not say "red" when the word was "green".

For an extra challenge, we tried saying the color instead of the word. This was much harder with the incongruent card and very easy with the congruent card!
