This week was all about studying the names of the bones. We did this every day because we have a test coming up and next week we are moving onto a new body system!
Bone Humor: haha!
I found some really cool games online to help me practice. I found them on Anatomy Arcade. There is Whack-A-Bone and Match-A-Bone. In Whack A Bone, I get to build, scan and whack the core section, arm section, and leg section. In the second level I get to scan the entire skeleton and then I can hurry and whack the guy, Harold, till he goes crazy! (His voice is already high-pitched, fast, and squeaky, and most of all so very silly!) Match-A-Bone is a matching game. When I play I match the names of the bones with the picture of the bones. It's fun and it times me! If the timer runs out before I have cleared all the bone cards, I lose the game.
Tech: Our October Kiwi Co. Crates have arrived! We've been waiting all month long and so we have had to do filler activities like building and innovating boats and a telephone from Landen's tinkering book. Our hope is to stretch these kits out longer since we know our November kit will not arrived until the end of next month.
Doodle Crate (Kaylee): This week I made a faux leather portfolio.
I could either make a blue portfolio with the brown on the inside and a brown or blue pocket, or I could make a brown portfolio with blue on the inside and a brown or blue pocket. I stitched it up this way as shown.
It comes with a sketchbook! I am very glad that I now have a sketchbook. It makes my crate so much cooler. And it fits perfectly! I can't wait to use it! There are also some holes on the flap. I get to make a design with different kinds of brads! Hooray!
Tinker Crate (Landen):
This week I made the base to my color changing led crystal by connecting some of the wires.
Elective:
Arts and Crafts (Kaylee): I bought this flannel remnant and wanted to make pajama pants out of it, but it turned out to not be enough fabric for my size. My mom suggested that I make it for my sister Emberly instead. It worked! It was just enough to fit the 4-5 year old pattern!
I learned how sizing works and how to read a pattern for how much fabric the project needs. I also learned how to straight stitch and then go back and use the basic zig zig stitch next to it to reinforce the seams.
Emberly helped too, while mom watched close by. She's so very interested, and she doesn't even know that I am making it for her!
The finished project...
They'll fit her for a while!
She was so happy and surprised! She wore them that night.
Building Machines (Landen):
This week I built a Go-Cart and filled out the first part of the worksheet. I built two different models and I identified their differences.

You guys are so smart! I love seeing what you are doing! Kaylee, the blog is awesome! Thank you and your mom for letting us keep up with you on it! Love you guys!
ReplyDeleteThank you grandpa!
